Course Outline
1. Introduction to the history and evolution of metrology and standards up to the current ISO/IEC17025:2005 standard.
2. An in depth examination of ISO/IEC 17025 Calibration and Testing Laboratory Requirements. A section by section interactive discussion on how to:
a) comply with the requirements, for those creating or modifying their "Management System" (aka Quality Manual)
b) assess/audit* compliance. (*This class is attended by both potential assessors and personnel from laboratories seeking accreditation.)
3. Meeting the technical requirements pertaining to Traceability, Certificates & Test Reports.
4. Additional requirements as given by L.A.B., ACLASS, A2LA, and others will be discussed.
5. The "Audit Process" and interacting with laboratory Personnel, some recommended do's and don'ts. (Attendees will receive some auditing tools and documents on CD.)
6. Auditing and Assessing Laboratory Methods, Measurement Processes, Measurement Uncertainty & Traceability (See Uncertainty Class for QUAMETEC's Software and Workshop in Measurement Uncertainty Analysis).
7. How to Audit/Assess the laboratories performance in assuring measurement quality as required by the standard.
8. How to document your Audit/Assessment. Attendees will be provided several useful tools and documents.
9. QIMT exclusive "Laboratory Process Audit" methods and techniques are provided as an improved manner of conducting the audit/assessment.
Extensive student interaction to ensure each attendee's objectives are fully met by the training.
A test will be given at the end of the course for those working to qualify as an assessor for either L.A.B or ACLASS accreditation bodies.
